UC Davis Athletics

Student-athletes now have more resources than ever to achieve greatness in competition and in the classroom. Through a donor effort led by Bruce Edwards ’60, the Edwards Family Athletics Center opened in 2022, creating a hub for the training, academic success, and overall health and wellbeing of student-athletes, all under one roof. With over 50,000 square feet of space, it features an outpatient clinic of UC Davis Health to serve the sports medicine needs of other students, as well as faculty, staff, and the Davis community.

Together, we are ensuring that women’s sports thrive at UC Davis. The donor-funded Marya Welch Initiative, named after the longtime UC Davis administrator and champion of women’s athletics, is building a solid financial foundation for our 16 NCAA women’s teams so that they can dominate in their respective conferences.

Every student-athlete has access to Aggie EVO, the award-winning career development system, that prepares students from the moment they arrive on campus for a successful launch after graduation. With resources like resume and job interview workshops, networking events, and personalized coaching, career services are embedded into every step of the student-athlete experience.

With philanthropic support, UC Davis Athletics is benefiting the entire university community, from supporting student-athletes in and beyond their college careers to enriching the lives of all Aggies.
